26 states have recalled cucumbers due to potential salmonella contamination.

Due to the possibility of salmonella contamination, a fruit firm based in Arizona is recalling all sizes of its fresh, whole American cucumbers in 26 states and certain areas of Canada.

Cucumbers sold from October 12 to November 26 were recalled due to possible contamination, which can result in serious and occasionally fatal infections in young children,

he elderly, and those with compromised immune systems, according to a statement released online Tby the Food and Drug Administration on Thursday.

The business claims that the recalled cucumbers were either packed in generic white boxes or black plastic crates with tags identifying the producer, or in bulk cardboard containers with the SunFed branding.

Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina,

Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin were among the 26 states in which the produce was distributed.

Additionally, they were offered for sale in many Canadian jurisdictions, including Alberta, British Columbia, Calgary, Ontario, and Saskatchewan.

According to SunFed, the impacted cucumbers would have been sold to customers via retail and food service establishments that may have been situated in states not on the list.

“As soon as we learned of this issue, we immediately acted to protect consumers,” said Craig Slate, president of SunFed, in a statement.

“We are working closely with authorities and the implicated ranch to determine the possible cause.” SunFed advised customers to avoid ingesting

Or sharing any questionable fruit and to verify whether their cucumbers match those that were recalled. Customers were instructed to discard any recalled goods.

Earlier this year, there was a recall of cucumbers in South Florida, where 155 people were hospitalized and at least 551 individuals were probably ill with salmonella.

The FDA found that Bedner Growers Inc. and Thomas Produce Co., both located in Palm Beach County, Florida, were responsible for a large number of the recalled cucumbers. Thomas denied a clear link between its goods.

According to estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 1.35 million cases of salmonella infections occur in the US annually.
