After a protracted fight with cancer, Rocky star Dolph Lundgren has triumphed. Following his May 2023 announcement that he had received private cancer treatment for eight years and that a doctor had given him up to three years to live after.
His medical team discovered and removed a kidney tumor, the 67-year-old announced this week via an Instagram video that he no longer has cancer cells in his body.
In the video, which featured him in a hospital bed wearing a medical cap, Lundgren said, “Okay, here I am [at] UCLA,
About to go in and get rid of that last tumor — and, since there are no cancer cells in my body anymore, I guess I’ll be cancer-free, so I’m looking forward to this procedure.”

The video’s comments area included emojis from Lundgren’s famous buddies, including actor Terry Crews and musician Busta Rhymes.

When Lundgren first spoke about his experience with cancer, he said that he had issues in 2020 that required further treatment after his first diagnosis in 2015.
In a 2023 interview with In Depth With Graham Bensinger, Lundgren remembered, “I had some sort of acid reflux when I was back in Sweden.”
“I was clueless about what it was. They discovered that there were a couple additional tumors nearby when I had an MRI.

He said that while surgery had removed six tumors, his physicians were unable to remove another liver tumor that was the “size of a lemon,” so he started systemic medication.
Along with playing Ivan Drago in Rocky IV and Creed II, Lundgren also acted in the 1989 film Masters of the Universe and The Punisher,
