9:20 AM PT This morning, Dave Coulier addressed the critics of John Stamos on Instagram. Since I’ve just recently started my cancer adventure, I apologize for the many unfavorable remarks.
This is how John and I are navigating a very difficult period in our friendship. My motivation is comedy, and I’m a comedian.
As a sincere and devoted friend and brother, John never fails to lift my spirits, and I burst out laughing when he showed up sporting a bald cap.
While John Stamos is demonstrating his support for his friend and former TV co-star Dave Coulier in his fight against severe cancer,
Some internet users are criticizing his approach and accusing him of not being adequately dedicated to the cause. Stamos shared a couple images of fellow “Full House” star Coulier on Instagram.
The photos showed Stamos shaving Coulier’s head and sporting a bald cap. Coulier is undergoing chemotherapy after a recent cancer diagnosis.
Coulier is fighting a severe kind of cancer called stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The buddies are both grinning in the photo of Stamos shaving Coulier’s head,
And Stamos admits that he used some Photoshop magic to make the bald wig fit in. In a third image, John and Melissa, Dave’s wife, are seen kissing Dave’s recently shaven dome.
Because no good act goes unpunished, however, Stamos is being called out by internet trolls for being “shallow.”
A number of people criticized Stamos for wearing a bald hat. It seems that wearing a bald cap was not a significant commitment to his pal. “Seriously just couldn’t shave your head bro?” said one.
Another reader said, “I feel like you’re using Dave’s diagnoses to make yourself more likeable,” while another added “You made sure to post it on Instagram to get those likes too.”
Others supported Stamos’ actions, describing them as inspirational: “Remember that if Dave isn’t upset by this, you shouldn’t be either ☺️ John’s job as an actor may need his hair.
Just last week, Coulier made his illness public and started treatment. In the 1990s, Stamos and Coulier, who are both in their 60s,
Costarred in the popular family program “Full House”; co-star Bob Saget passed away in 2022 due to a head injury. They collaborated on “Fuller House,” the show’s relaunch.
He’s in the 90-percent “curable” zone, according to Coulier, and he certainly seems to appreciate John’s gesture. Watch out, trolls! First published at 6:41 a.m. PT
