On Saturday afternoon, the Michigan Wolverines defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes in a historic upset at Ohio State.
Unfortunately, a nasty altercation between Ohio State and Michigan players as the game was coming to a close ruined the event.
The trash talk started as the Wolverines attempted to kneel out the time. Then there were fisticuffs, and players poured onto the bench. Police first struggled to break up the brawl.
No one anticipated what came next. Players from two teams seemed to be pepper sprayed by police to get them to leave.
Eventually, the two squads parted ways, and two Michigan players were spotted wiping tears from their eyes.
According to Pat Forde, senior writer for Sports Illustrated, he was also pepper sprayed. “A number of players, coaches, and members of the media were caught in the spray,” Forde said.
Kalel Mullings, a running back for Michigan, said after the game that he believed the brawl was initiated by Ohio State players. However, it remained unclear precisely what had occurred.
