Following Liam Payne’s untimely death at the age of 31, family members have joined some of the greatest celebrities in Britain to attend an emotional private funeral in his honor.
After Harry Styles, 30, fell from a hotel balcony in Argentina last month, he was “completely devastated.” He joined his fellow One Direction members to commemorate the life of their beloved former bandmate.
As they gathered around their fellow Girls Aloud member Cheryl, the mother of Payne’s seven-year-old son Bear, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, 43, were among the first to arrive.
Shortly thereafter, Payne’s 25-year-old girlfriend Kate Cassidy, consoled by her 22-year-old buddy Damian Hurley, followed them.
It is believed that Styles, 30, Niall Horan, 31, Zayn Malik, 31, and Louis Tomlinson, 32, came to the chapel individually for the first time since their previous performance in 2015.
The creator of One Direction, Simon Cowell, showed up at the service with his girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, along with new Radio 2 Breakfast DJ Scott Mills.

A dark blue casket with silver handles and white flowers on top was subsequently brought to the chapel in a horse-drawn carriage. A blue tribute that said “daddy” and a red flower tribute that read “son” were placed atop the carriage.
Before the dark blue casket was taken inside the church via a side entrance, the audience grew silent as Payne’s mother Karen and father Geoff exited a car and stood behind the carriage.

The Capital radio DJs Chris Stark, Jordan North, and Sian Welby came together and are among the other celebrities attending the event.
For the service, Scott Mills, who was heavily involved with One Direction in their early years, donned a black long coat over dark pants.
Among the mourners who gathered to pay their last respects to Payne were broadcaster Adrian Chiles and former professional football player Robbie Keane.
Harry Styles was escorted by actor and broadcaster James Corden, while Niall Horan and his girlfriend Amelia Woolley were dropped there in a black Range Rover and entered the chapel immediately.
Rochelle wore a long coat with cape trimming, while JLS frontman Marvin Humes sported a long back coat, black pants, and black gloves.
The site of the funeral has been kept a secret, and locals were only made aware of it when ‘no parking’ signs were placed around the church.
As they patrolled the area, two traffic enforcement officials issued citations to any motorist who disregarded the signage.
In September, Payne traveled to Argentina to see his close buddy Rogelio ‘Roger’ Nores and former bandmate Niall Horan play.
At the time of the tragedy, he had stayed longer to renew his visa to reside in the United States.
Candle lanterns and white roses planted in the surrounding shrubbery have been used to adorn the church’s entryway, which is the site of the ceremony.
Following Payne’s passing, Tomlinson, Malik, Horan, and Styles issued a joint statement in which they expressed their “complete devastation.”
“There will be more to say when everyone is able to,” they said.
But for the time being, we will take some time to mourn and come to terms with the death of our beloved brother.
We shall always cherish the moments we had with him. We are now thinking about his family, friends, and the people that shared our love for him.
He will be sorely missed. Liam, Louis, Zayn, Niall, and Harry all adore you.
Styles, Malik, and Tomlinson all went on to share their own tributes.
Styles expressed his sadness on Instagram, writing that he will “miss him forever.”
Making other people happy was his greatest delight, and it was an honor to be with him while he did it.
“Liam had an infectious enthusiasm for life and lived life to the fullest, with his heart on his sleeve.”
He was kind, encouraging, and deeply affectionate. Our time together will always rank among my favorite memories of my life.
My dear buddy, I shall always miss him.
“I am deeply saddened for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, his son Bear, and everyone else who knew and loved him as much as I did.”
Tomlinson was’really struggling with the concept of saying goodbye’, he revealed in a separate heartfelt tribute.
On his Instagram page, he shared a photo of the two of them performing, with Payne tenderly placing his arm over Tomlinson’s shoulder.
If Payne’s kid Bear “ever needs me,” Tomlinson added, he would be an uncle and “tell him stories of how amazing his dad was.”
“Talking on the phone for hours and remembering all the thousands of incredible moments we shared together is a luxury I thought I’d have with you for life,” he said.
“I’m so grateful that we got even closer since the band.”
It was not meant to be, even though I would have liked to take the stage with you one again.
“I wish I had the opportunity to say goodbye and express my love for you again.”

According to Malik, he had been speaking out to Payne in the hopes that he may be heard.
He claimed he had “lost a brother when you left us” in his own heartbreaking homage.
He added, “And I can’t express to you how much I would love to simply give you a final hug, say goodbye in a proper manner, and let you know that you are loved and respected.”
“I will always treasure the memories I have of you in my heart.” Other than being completely saddened, there are no words that can adequately describe or justify how I feel right now.
Wherever you are right now, I hope you’re doing well, at peace, and aware of how much you’re loved. I adore you, buddy.
