‘Misinformation’ campaigns costing $267 million were funded by the Biden administration to combat vaccination skepticism.

According to expenditure data, over ten government departments received cash for disinformation research and initiatives during the Biden administration.

government data that Open the Books was able to get shows that the Biden administration allocated hundreds of millions of dollars across government departments to combat “misinformation.”

Just $6.7 million of the $273,860,723 spent since 2017 came from government assistance under the Trump administration, with $267 million coming during the Biden years.

According to the report, HHS was primarily funded to prevent the spread of “health misinformation.”

“Misinformation” is defined by HHS as information that is “false, inaccurate, or misleading according to the best available evidence at the time.”

According to the federal administration, false information circulates readily on social media, “online retail sites,” and “search engines.”

HHS went on to say that creating a “healthier information environment” is just as crucial as ensuring clean water and air.

HHS got far over $185 million during this time, including funds to counter what it saw to be COVID-19 falsehoods, according to a breakdown of expenditures.

As a consequence, several propaganda materials were produced, such as the following from the U.S. Surgeon General’s Office:

A total of $127 million was spent specifically to combat COVID “misinformation.” The most common methods were via research and conferences.

That explained how disinformation is propagated, or public initiatives designed to restrict misinformation through grassroots activism.

HHS and the CDC received an astounding $80 million to collaborate with “community-based organizations” in an effort to “increase vaccination coverage” across various racial and ethnic groups who are purportedly “experiencing disparities.”

As part of its “health equity focus,” the initiative aims to increase “access and acceptance of influenza and COVID-19 vaccines among adults in racial and/or ethnic populations.”

The project is scheduled to conclude in April 2026. Other initiatives focused on purportedly false information on opioids, HIV, and the HPV vaccine.

More than two hundred thousand dollars was allocated in one mysterious award to “educate consumers about the sustainable management of Bering Sea crab fisheries.”

“[The project] will combat misinformation that negatively impacts public perception of crabbing and the commercial fishing industry.”

The Department of Defense ($2.9 million), the State Department ($12.6 million), and the National Science Foundation ($65.5 million) were among the other government departments that received financing for disinformation.

Funding ranged from $200,000 to $2,000,000 for other agencies, such as the Department of Justice, Department of Commerce, Department of Agriculture, Department of the Interior, and Institute of Museum & Library Services.
