Cheers to Thanksgiving! Start the day with the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City, which starts on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and ends at Macy’s main shop in Herald Square.
According to Macy’s, the parade is not commemorating its 100th anniversary this year since it was not held in 1942, 1943, or 1944 because of World War II, even though the parade tradition actually started in 1924.
Rubber and other commodities that would have been utilized in the celebration were allocated to war activities during that period.
According to NBC, the event’s broadcaster, this year’s program will include 22 floats, 17 character balloons, 15 heritage or novelty balloons, and over 700 clowns.
A number of well-known musicians will play during the event, along with ten performing groups, eleven marching bands, and three prominent floats.
Renowned choreographer Shay Latukolan will also create dance routines for Santa Claus and Tom Turkey.
“The 98th Macy’s Parade lineup ensures there will be something for everyone during this iconic Thanksgiving Day celebration,” according to Macy’s.
