After eight rounds against Mike Tyson, Jake Paul’s response has been dissected by a body language specialist.
Last night (November 15), Paul took against the legendary boxer in one of the year’s most anticipated bouts.
The 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer won by points after Paul and Tyson were unable to knock each other out at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Paul won the bout, which was aired on Netflix, 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73. The amateur fighter seemed to show respect for Tyson by bowing toward him just before the last bell sounded.
After that, Tyson and Paul semi-embraced one other by putting their heads together. “Mike Tyson and Jake Paul acknowledge each other as they know the fight is coming to an end,
And Jake in particular is in awe of Mike and wants to show how much he respects and admires him,” body language expert Inbaal Honigman told UNILAD in response to this moment.
“When Jake Paul bows to Mike Tyson, he is not only grateful, but he is sharing his relief to Mike as if to say, ‘it’s over, we did it.’”
“Jake Paul has a great deal of respect for Mike Tyson, and when he shakes his hand, it’s to make sure that Mike Tyson knows how much he appreciates him,” Honigman said, referring to Paul shaking the 58-year-old’s hand after the bout.
“It’s to let Mike know that he should be pleased of himself since, at the age of 58, he performed fantastic.
“We got the job done, look at the venue, look at this being on Netflix, this is absolutely huge,” is another way to express this during the handshake.
The body language expert also discussed the instance in which Tyson mentioned Logan Paul as a potential opponent in the future. Logan would ‘kill’ Tyson in the ring, he said.
“When Logan Paul says ‘I will kill you Mike’ when responding to a potential fight, his eyes light up as he knows there could be some interest in it,” Honignan said.
“Logan looks excited and is happy to be in the limelight and speak about it as he is now in the conversation.”
Even though Tyson lost the battle, many people cheered him on, pointing out that he is 31 years older than Paul. “You may all claim that I squandered my time, but I didn’t.
It’s Iron Mike Tyson,” someone said. “You must see him box. He is fifty-eight years old. You thought he could pull it off. He remained upright.
He really is a living legend. One last commenter commented: “At the age of 58, Mike Tyson still had it in him! Bro played eight rounds.
