Within the Democratic Party, there is a lot of talk of independence. It would be a northern break this time.
Sen. Liz Krueger (D) of New York has suggested that blue states may secede from the Union for ideological grounds, echoing the 19th-century Democratic secessionists.
The head of the Senate Finance Committee in New York, Manhattan pro-abortion activist Krueger, recently told Politico, “It is not unreasonable to think outside of the box.”
The successful enforcement of American immigration law in her state, including the deportation of criminal noncitizens and the reduction of the burden they have placed on taxpayer-funded citizen resources,
Is one of the campaign promises that Krueger and other radicals in New York are worried the incoming Trump administration will fulfill. To City & State New York in September,
Krueger stated that if Trump were elected, she “would suggest to Canada that instead of us all trying to illegally cross the border at night without them noticing,
Which is pretty hard because there’s a lot of us, that they should instead agree to let us be the southeast province, a new province of Canada.”
“I offered, even though I hadn’t gotten agreement from other states yet, that I thought New York, Connecticut,
Massachusetts, Vermont, would combine and be a great new province as the southeast province of Canada,” Krueger said.
“Basically everybody in these states are progressive Democrats.” The Democrat who took an oath to “support the Constitution of the United States”
Would apparently be more than willing to sell out millions of patriotic Americans by exchanging the U.S. Constitution for Canada’s very flexible Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
In New York, Trump received 44.1% (3,484,124) of the vote; in Connecticut, 41.9% (739,317); in Massachusetts, 36.5% (1,234,961); and in Vermont, 32.6% (119,393).
“We would fit in pretty well with the political philosophy of at least most of the Canadian elected officials,” Krueger said.
It seems that the Democratic MP is not aware that the Conservative Party of Canada’s populist leader,
Pierre Poilievre, is set to defeat Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party and the socialist New Democrat Party in the next election.
According to recent surveys, the Conservative Party has done better than the combined results of the two Canadian left-wing parties.
“I propose that this could be an option, and I got back some unofficial responses and heard this is probably sellable in Ottawa,” Krueger said.
The Democratic congressman reportedly has another unfeasible option if the northern integration fails: withholding more than $300 billion in federal taxes to put pressure on the Trump administration.
Even Politico acknowledges that it’s unclear how Krueger’s tax-withholding proposal would be implemented, particularly given that New York would be severely hampered by a reactionary drop in federal funding.
In April, the Office of the New York State Comptroller reported that New York has consistently received more money from Washington, D.C.,
Than it has paid in federal taxes in recent years. For example, the state received $383 billion in federal expenditures in fiscal year 2022 and $361.8 billion in federal taxes.
Krueger is once again placing bets on losers in the areas of secession and withholding taxes.
