When Dax Shepard asked Cynthia Erivo whether her acrylic nails obstruct her ability to use the restroom, she said that she gets “annoyed” when people ask about her long nails.
The 37-year-old Wicked actor asked a “really crazy” and “inappropriate” question on Monday when he was a guest on Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast.
Shepard, 49, said, “When you’re wiping your butt…,” as Cynthia interrupted, saying, “I knew you would ask that question.”
“My response is that no one wipes their ass with just their fingers,” the actress said. I take it you utilize tissue? You also wipe!
Shepard persisted in questioning the celebrity about whether or not she utilizes the “tips of the fingernails” to grasp the toilet paper in her hand.
Cynthia, who shone at Monday night’s UK premiere of Wicked, said that she utilizes “pads of the fingers” before stating, “I’m a functioning adult.”
Shepard continued the line of inquiry by inquiring as to if she sometimes felt a “little tickle of the nails on the crack.”
“No, since the tissue is present!” Cynthia answered. Cynthia said, ‘I’m irritated by it,’ when Shepard inquired whether she was ‘offended’ by the question.
My words are, “Come on, guys.” It’s also like, “I’m a functioning adult, and I’ve never walked around smelling like, you know…” but I get that.
“The thing is, there are people who don’t have nails and they need to check how they’re wiping,” she said.
Cynthia also made a joke about how people have questioned her about how she does her nails. “I mean, I’m here!” I exclaim. I’m dressed.
During her Wicked promotional tour with co-star Ariana Grande, the star’s striking nails have been the main attraction. With their nail art, both have been emulating Elphaba and Grande, their on-screen personas.
The two movie actors apologized for the tears they had been crying when discussing their relationship and the film during promotional mode.
We had shed five hundred tears today. This is a PSA, to be honest. In a video released by E! News, Grande, 31, was heard saying, “So sorry, guys.”
“It is what it is,” her co-star, who was born in Britain, said. “There is simply nothing that we can do.” ‘I can’t fathom, and you know what?’ Grande stepped back in.
She sat next to Erivo for an interview and stated, “If you’re going to comment about how annoying it is, I’ll say it first.”
I was the first to say it. I’m irritated. I’m worn out. My ducts of tears I’m emotionally and physically exhausted.
“We’ve overcome a huge, huge obstacle and we’ve truly remained united,” Erivo said. Wicked: Part One opens in theaters in the United States on November 22.
The sequel, Wicked Part Two, will be released the following year on November 21, 2025.
