Jim Carrey Loses His Sister Rita

Rita, Jim Carrey’s elder sister, has away, according to her 16-year spouse Alex. The radio star died “peacefully and quietly” on Thursday, according to the statement Rita’s husband provided on Facebook Friday morning.

Rita’s husband went on to describe her as his “beautiful wife,” “lover,” and “bestest friend.”

“Rita had a loving soul and wanted to help everyone, even complete strangers,” he said. Rita planned a fundraiser to support a local charity since.

As everyone knows, Christmas was her favorite holiday. In fact, she loved it every day. According to Alex, there will be a candlelight vigil in her honor at the beginning of December.

Fans are being encouraged to attend the “Christmas on the Terrace” event in St. Catharines, Ontario. Additionally, donations were welcomed.

Alex said that their time together was “wonderful and crazy,” adding, “She filled everyone’s heart with joy with every step she took and I will never forget this beautiful and amazingly talented woman.”

He concluded his statement by expressing his love for Rita. The late radio personality was also honored by Brian Salmon, Rita’s former radio co-host at 91.7 Giant FM, who described Rita as a very kind individual.

According to Brian, Rita would often gather memorabilia from her well-known brother’s movies to sell off to charity, but she seldom boasted about her Hollywood connections.

Rita spent many years performing in a classic rock band, even rocking with music great Bruce Springsteen, in addition to her career as a public speaker and radio broadcaster.

Notably, she has served as an opening act for artists including Honeymoon Suite and April Wine. Born in Canada to Kathleen and Percy Carrey, Rita grew up with her three siblings, John, Patricia, and Jim, of course.
