One issue with Netflix’s choice to show a live video of Mike Tyson’s nude posterior before to his fight against Jake Paul on Saturday has been brought to light by Paige Spiranac.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer defeated the former undisputed heavyweight champion on Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
The ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’ lost to the 27-year-old by unanimous decision, marking Tyson’s first appearance in the ring since his 2020 exhibition bout versus Jones Jr.
On Netflix’s live broadcast, Tyson was shown getting ready for the bout backstage in his changing room before the ring walks.
When he showed up for an interview with his son Amir, Tyson spoke out about his feelings before giving his kid a hug and a kiss. He walked away from his kid and the camera after predicting a “violent win” in the battle.
Following a strange turn of events, it seemed like Tyson had no briefs below his jeans. As he moved slowly around the room, Netflix’s cameras seemed to capture his nude posterior live on TV.
Netflix posted on X (previously Twitter) that “Mike Tyson’s pre-fight interview got real cheeky.” This prompted many people to share their opinions on the situation, while others criticized Netflix for its poor streaming quality.
Spiranac, a 31-year-old golf glamor queen, also shared her thoughts on the popular event on X: “Oh, but when I do it, it’s a problem.”
The golf influencer, who has more than four million Instagram followers, has previously responded to those who have criticized her for dressing provocatively. A few of her costumes, according to the American, “really rub people up the wrong way.”
She discussed how her experience competing as a gymnast influences her wardrobe choices for both the golf course and her daily life in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
“Before switching to golf, I was a gymnast,” the former Cactus Tour player said. “When you’re wearing a leotard and competing, you just wear spandex, so I felt really at ease wearing very little of it.”
She also said that she “did not have the luxury to go out and buy a whole new golf-appropriate wardrobe” since she had been “struggling a little bit financially.”
She claims that instead, she learnt how to play the sport by wearing what she already owned, which were her gym clothing. Spiranac, however, was perplexed as to why other players did not dress more comfortably.
“It really irritates people, which is shocking,” Spiranac said. “That was always my mindset when I got into golf.” “I love it, but they’ll have really heated arguments about whether they should wear shorts,
Pants, a blade collar, or a real collar, and I’m just out here in spandex or tank tops and people are like, ‘What are you doing?'”
LIV Golf has taken the initiative to let its stars to wear shorts during competitive rounds, despite the fact that PGA Tour players are prohibited from doing so.
According to Spirinac, “we are beginning to see that change and fashion are big parts of growing the game and it’s moving in the right direction.”
The 31-year-old said on the Up and Adams Show with Kay Adams that golf’s stuffy and sometimes conventional beliefs might make some individuals feel scared about playing the game.
Because golf may seem stuffy and unwelcoming at times, I believe that many individuals are afraid to start playing the game.
You’re afraid of “what am I wearing, what am I doing, am I going to – you know – upset a member at a country club, or all of these things.”
Since Adam Sandler just started work on a sequel to his classic 1996 movie, Spiranac has been connected to appearing in Happy Gilmore Two in recent months. Additionally, Travis Kelce has been guaranteed an appearance in the much awaited follow-up.
