Praying for Dolly Parton and her family at this trying time

Dolly Parton’s brother, David Wilburn Parton, died. He was 82 years old. The singer’s sister, Stella Parton, announced their brother’s death on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, November 15.

The 75-year-old added, “My brother David passed away peacefully this morning.” “He received his angel wings and is now at peace, but saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy.”

In a another Facebook post, Stella said that her brother passed away “in the early hours of the morning” and that “it’s never easy to lose a loved one.”

“My brother David left us this morning,” she said on Threads. At last, he received his angel wings. Rest in peace, my beautiful soul. Love you always.

According to an online obituary posted the same day, David, whose real name was David W. Parton, “passed away.

At his home” in White Pine, Tennessee, on Friday, November 15. The reason of death was not disclosed.

Dolly, 78, has not yet spoken on her brother’s death in public. For further information, people have reached out to Stella and Dolly’s reps.

At the time of his death, David had been a bridge construction supervisor for Simpson Construction. He has worked throughout Tennessee, including Kingsport, Johnson City, and Knoxville, according to the obituary.

“Dr. David McNabney, Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, his Cornerstone caregiver, Aubrie Smith, and caregiver, Robin Schmidt, are especially appreciated by the family,” the statement said.

David was the second oldest of the 11 Parton siblings, who also included Willadeene, 84, Coy, 81, Dolly, Robert Jr., 76, Stella, Cassie, 73, Freida, 67, and Rachel, 65. Randy, Larry, and Floyd were already gone.

Unlike his famous sisters, David stayed out of the spotlight while he was alive. His brothers are joined by his wife of 45 years, Kay Parton; two daughters, Donna and Dena; Lucas.

A “nephew/son,” according to the obituary; and grandkids and great-grandchildren. The funeral is scheduled on Tuesday, November 19, at Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine, and family and friends are welcome to attend.

Nearly four years after his brother Randy’s death from cancer in 2021 at age 67, and six years after his brother Floyd’s death in December 2018 at age 61, David went away.

In an earlier Facebook post on Randy’s death, Dolly wrote, “My brother Randy has lost his battle with cancer.”

My family and I are saddened by his passing, but we also know that he is in a better place than we are right now.

“As members of a religious family, we believe that he is safe with God and that he is joined by family members who have previously welcomed him with joy and open arms.”
