Sofia has always had a passion for fashion. Sofia is a Puerto Rican child with Down syndrome. She had aspirations of working in the fashion industry from a young age.
The model’s career began in February 2020 when she accepted an invitation from fashion designer Marisa Santiago to walk during New York Fashion Week.
“I realized a dream yesterday. In an Instagram post, Sofia stated, “I was born for this, and I want to show the world that I have everything a model needs to shine.”
This model is the first to be cast for Victoria’s Secret with Down syndrome. Sofia has always wanted to be a part of the new Victoria’s Secret campaign. She was quite emotional and thrilled.

She has a line of products that includes phone covers, mugs, backpacks, and notebooks. Sofia is the designer of all of them. Alavett, the name of her brand, means “I love it” when uttered.
In addition to modeling, she advocates for the value of diversity. Through her efforts, Sofia hopes to inspire others and continue to highlight the positive aspects of inclusion.
According to CNBC, one of her programs that promotes awareness of individuals with Down syndrome is Sin Limites. According to Sofia Jirau, individuals with Down syndrome are capable of hard work and modeling.
