Supporters of the energetic and nimble Border Terrier breed value this breed’s reputation as a hardy, uncomplicated working dog.
These energetic, joyful, and affectionate canines are well-liked pets in both urban and rural settings. They are simple to care for because of their low-maintenance wiry coats.
Border Terriers are readily distinguished from other tiny terriers by their characteristic “otter head,” and they usually stand between 11 and 16 inches height at the shoulder.
In addition, their legs are longer than those of many other little terriers. They may have coats that are red, wheaten, blue and tan, or grizzle and tan.
Despite their reputation for being “hard as nails” at work, Border Terriers are loving and trainable at home. They are excellent playmates for kids and love exploring the outdoors.
As long as they get enough exercise, Borders, who were originally bred as rural dogs, fare well in urban environments.
