Emma Baum’s family is still searching for answers over a month after she vanished. According to ABC 7 Chicago, the 25-year-old woman was last seen on.
October 10 at the intersection of 25th Avenue and Connecticut Street in Gary, Indiana. At the time, she was nine months pregnant.
Emma did not have a functional phone when she went to visit the father of her unborn child that day in a lonely place, according to CBS News.
Since then, family members and friends have been searching for her, distributing fliers and asking for information about her disappearance.
According to Chicago site WGN9 News, she was reported missing to the Gary Police Department on October 28.
On Friday, Nov. 15, her family spoke about the unfortunate circumstances during a tearful press conference.
“I’ve pulled folks over in their vehicles. People have stopped walking because of me. I have spoken to as many people as possible.
According to CBS News, Emma’s sister Hailey Baum said at the conference, “We’re searching in abandoned houses.”
“Emma, you are loved. Emma’s other sister, Abigale Smith, told WGN9 News, “And if you can hear us, nothing that you have done has made any of us stop loving you.”
“We trust that somebody knows something, and we want her home.” Jamie Baum, Emma’s mother, told reporters, “We will always search for her. I will always be searching for her.
“My whole family will never stop looking for you, Emma,” she said, according to CBS News.
Emma’s boyfriend, who is also the father of her unborn kid, was apprehended on a warrant, according to NBC Chicago.
Gary Police commander Jack Hamady informed the publication that he has not been charged in relation to Emma’s disappearance and is presently being held for an unrelated incident.
